The latest needlework of mine - Camellia
This is the latest needlework of mine - Camellia
In the language of flowers, Camellia signifies humility.
Many flowers lose their petals one by one when the last time comes.
Camellia however falls keeping its shape.
In the old days, it reminds samurais of cutting their heads off.
Therefore it seems to be thought that camellia brings them ill fortune.
On the other hand, Tsubaki, Japanese name of camellia, is named for that it has thick and strong leaves or that its leaves are glossy.
I who live in the age with no idea of harakiri and kubikiri, love camellia and admire it for its beauty.
