These are pictures taken at Honmaru Palace of Nagoya castle.
Honmaru Palace was designated as a national treasure in 1930 but unfortunately most part of it was burned during an air raid in 1945.
Then reconstruction of the palace was started in 2009 and was finished this June at last.
My impression for the brand-new palace is "gorgeous and luxurious".
Any part of the palace coming into my eyes is in gold.
Pictures on partitions are precisely duplicated as they were, by analyzing the pigments and the materials scientifically and by making clear the traditional techniques of drawings in Edo era.
The pictures were originally drawn by painters of Kano stream who were so popular in the era.
I'm very impressed by imaging I'm watching the same things that lords watched at that time.
If you have a chance to visit Nagoya, don't miss Honmaru Palace of Nagoya Castle.
